Jena AI is an EEG-aware chatbot integrated into BrainAccess Board.

Jena has access to the current state and status of your connected devices and can guide you through BrainAccess Board settings. It can also monitor EEG data quality across devices in real time and provide suggestions to improve the signal.

Jena is designed to help with both device-related questions and general use of the BrainAccess Board interface.

Jena is an AI and can make mistakes. Always verify its answers.

After your request is processed, you will receive login credentials that can be used inside BrainAccess Board.

Launch Jena

Jena is part of BrainAccess Board. To use this feature, download and install BrainAccess Board from here.

To chat with Jena:

  1. Open BrainAccess Board.
  2. Click Ask Jena in the left sidebar.
  3. A chat panel will appear as a split window on the right side of the application.
  4. Log in using the credentials you received after requesting access.
  5. Type your question in the chat and press send.

Jena will reply with EEG-aware answers based on the current state of the Board and your connected devices.

Detaching the chat window

By default, Jena opens as a split window inside BrainAccess Board.

You can detach the chat into a separate pop-up window by clicking the detach icon in the top-right corner of the chat panel.

This is useful if you are working with multiple screens or want to keep Jena open while using other parts of BrainAccess Board.

Chat history and conversations

Jena stores your chat history, so you can return to previous conversations at any time.

All saved conversations are available from the dropdown menu at the top of the chat panel. Each conversation is automatically named after the first message sent in that chat.

Start a new conversation

To start a new chat, click + New at the top of the Jena panel.

This creates a new conversation while keeping your previous chats available in the conversation dropdown.

Delete a conversation

To delete a conversation:

  1. Select the conversation from the dropdown menu.

  2. Click the trash icon at the top of the chat panel.

  3. Confirm by clicking Yes.

The selected conversation will be removed from the chat history.

Message input controls

Message input controls define how keyboard actions behave while typing in the chat message composer.

A usage meter in the panel shows how much Jena usage you have left for the current period.

Jena can monitor and evaluate EEG signal quality across connected devices in real time.

Suggestions to improve EEG quality

Based on the signal quality, Jena can suggest actions to improve the EEG data, such as checking electrode contact, adjusting the headset, or identifying noisy channels.

SDK documentation support

Jena can also help answer questions related to BrainAccess SDK documentation and guide you toward relevant information.

Are my devices connected correctly? Which devices are currently streaming? What is the battery level of my connected devices?

EEG signal quality

How does my EEG signal look? Which channels have bad signal quality? Can you check the signal quality across all devices? Is there too much noise in my EEG data?

My device is connected but I do not see a signal. What should I check? The signal looks flat. What could be wrong? The EEG is very noisy. How can I fix it? I cannot find my recording. Where should I look?

Notice

Jena outsources heavy computation to our server side, keeping streaming and recording on BrainAccess Board light and helping avoid delays during data acquisition. It combines LLM-based reasoning with curated knowledge maps that are continuously updated and maintained by our team.
Because Jena AI runs on the server side, some responses may take a little longer depending on the request and connection. We are actively testing and improving response time during the Beta period.
