Record#
The Record screen (sidebar ⏺, Ctrl+2) captures your connected
sources to disk. It needs at least one connected device — the status
line at the top tells you where you stand: “{N} sources ready –
idle”, “No sources connected – open Connect tab”, or “{N} sources
– recording hh:mm:ss”.
The screen has three areas: the recording form (left), the SOURCES card (what will be recorded), and recent recordings (right).
Setting up a recording#
Confirm SOURCES lists at least one connected device with its channels. If it shows “No sources connected”, click “Open Connect →” and connect one first.
Pick the output Directory (or Browse…). The default is your recordings folder (
Documents/BrainAccessData).Fill in the form:
Field
Meaning
Subject
Participant identifier (e.g.
42).Session
Session number (default
1).Task
Optional short task name — becomes part of the filename.
Run
Run number within the session (default
1).The resulting filename is previewed live as you type.
Click the green Start recording.
The button is enabled only when a source is connected and all fields are valid — if it’s greyed out, look for a field message such as “Run must be an integer ≥ 1”.
While recording#
A RECORDING pill and elapsed time show in the status line.
“{N} markers added” counts event markers received during the session (markers can come from the viewer’s marker keys or from connected marker streams — see View).
“Disk: {free} free · {eta}” estimates how long the free disk space will last.
Click the red Stop recording to finish — the file is finalized and appears at the top of recent recordings.
Recent recordings#
Each row in the recents list offers:
V — open this recording in the viewer (file mode).
R — copy this recording’s subject/session/task/run back into the form, for a follow-up run.
Show in Files (toolbar) — open the recordings folder in your file manager.
