Installation#
Download#
Get BrainAccess Board from the BrainAccess website
as a .zip archive for your platform (Windows or Linux).
If you already have Board installed, the newest build is always one click away inside the app: Resources → Downloads → BrainAccess Board (see Updating below).
Windows#
Download the Windows .zip archive.
Extract it anywhere you like (for example
C:\Program Files\BrainAccessBoardor a folder in your user profile).Run BrainAccessBoard.exe.
Linux#
Download the Linux .zip archive.
Extract it to a folder of your choice.
Run the BrainAccessBoard executable. If your file manager does not offer to run it, mark it as executable first (file properties → Allow executing file as program, or
chmod +x BrainAccessBoardin a terminal).
macOS#
macOS builds are planned. Until then Board is available for Windows and Linux only.
First launch#
The first window can take a few moments to appear while the application starts its background services — this is normal. You land on the Connect screen, ready to pair a device (see Quick start).
Updating#
Board tells you when a newer version exists:
An “Update available” banner appears at the top of the window — follow its “Get the latest build” link.
Resources → Downloads always lists the current build for both platforms.
The footer of the Resources screen shows your installed version: “BrainAccess Board v… — Up to date” or “— v… available”.
To update, download the new archive and replace your extracted folder. Your recordings, templates, and settings live in your user profile, not in the application folder, so they survive updates.
Where Board keeps your files#
Open the Folders screen (sidebar, Ctrl+4) and click a card to
open the folder in your file manager:
