View#
The View screen (sidebar 👁, Ctrl+3) is the signal viewer — live
signals from connected devices, or recorded files in file mode.
It is the place for signal-quality checks and adjustments.
From top to bottom:
Header — the DEVICE picker, a live/file mode pill, status, and three buttons: ⚙ (viewer settings), 📍 (marker presets), 📷 (snapshot).
Toolbar — chips controlling filtering and display (below).
Minimap — the session history strip with every marker; drag to scrub back in time.
Channel rail — one row per channel with name and visibility toggle.
Footer — playback state and cursor readout.
If a device streams several signal groups (EEG, accelerometer, …), tab chips in the toolbar switch between them.

Every slider menu (window, Low/High Hz, Sens, Scale) also has a type-in box — enter an exact number and press Enter. Out-of-range values turn red (the allowed range is shown next to the box) and are not applied.
Note
Toolbar filters affect the display only. The recording always stores the raw, unfiltered signal.
Quick recipes#
50/60 Hz hum: turn on Notch and pick your mains frequency.
Drifting baseline: FILTER on, Low 1 Hz.
Traces too small / clipped: adjust Sens / Scale, or switch Per-ch norm ↔ Common norm.
A channel is flat or ugly: check its electrode contact (see impedance in Connect); hide it with the eye toggle in the channel rail.
“Where did my live data go?” — you are viewing history; click Latest or press
Space.
History and the minimap#
The minimap shows the whole session with each received marker as a
colored tick. Drag the viewport handle to scrub through history;
drag it back to the right edge (or click Latest) to follow live
data again. While paused, ← / → step one window back / forward.
Very long sessions keep up to 100 000 markers in the timeline; once exceeded, the oldest are dropped.
Markers#
Markers are timestamped event labels stored with the recording.
Press a preset’s key to drop a marker. Marker 1 is always sent with M; every other preset uses its own key. The very first key press only initialises the marker stream and is not recorded.
The 📍 button opens the preset editor. Each row sets the marker’s text, key, and colour (a per-row colour picker, or Auto for the default). Use ➕ Add marker to add a preset — it is auto-assigned the next free key — and 🗑 to remove one. Marker 1 is fixed: it always keeps key M and can’t be removed.
Markers appear as ticks on the minimap and as labels on the traces.
Snapshots#
The 📷 button opens the snapshot dialog with two choices: “Capture and Save” writes a PNG to the snapshot folder set in ⚙ settings, and “Copy to Clipboard” copies the image of the current view to the clipboard without saving a file.
Viewer settings (⚙)#
The settings modal holds the options that are not in the toolbar: Monochrome channels, Trace line width, Snapshot folder, and “Reset GUI to defaults”.
Reviewing a recording (file mode)#
With no live device connected, the empty viewer offers
“Open Recording” — pick a .db file to replay it. Alternatively
click V on a row in Record’s recent list. The mode pill in the
header shows you’re in file mode; the minimap spans the whole file.
File mode is read-only — nothing you do here modifies the recording.
