Recordings and review#

Your recordings and snapshots stay on the phone, where you browse, open, share and delete them. Open the browser with Recordings on the device list. This is also where you replay a finished session on the review screen — the read-only counterpart to the live Live signal viewer.

The browser#

Two tabs, Recordings (N) and Snapshots (N), list your files newest first. Each card shows the filename and FORMAT · size KB.

Managing files#

  • Tap a recording to open it for review; tap a snapshot to view it.

  • Long-press any card to enter selection mode. The top bar becomes N selected with Select all, Share and Delete; Back leaves selection mode.

  • Share opens the Android share sheet (mail, Drive, messaging, file managers) — this is the recommended way to get recordings off the phone.

  • Delete shows Deleted N files with an Undo button. Undo restores them.

Review screen#

Tapping a recording opens the review screen. It looks and behaves like the live viewer, but it replays a finished file instead of live data.

  • Info line — channels, whether an accelerometer was recorded, the file’s sample rate (with (shown at N Hz) when the display was reduced for speed on long files), duration and marker count.

  • Filter chips work exactly as in the live viewer and use the same settings (see Live signal viewer). Review filtering is phase-neutral, so features are not shifted in time.

  • Transport — play/pause (real time; press play again at the end to restart from the beginning), step back/forward one window, step back/forward a tenth of a window, and a position / total readout. The readout follows the start of the visible window, so with a 10 s window on a 60 s file it stops at 0:50 / 1:00.

  • Minimap — the whole recording with marker ticks; the box is the visible window. Tap to jump, drag to pan.

  • Pinch the plot to change the window length.

  • Share in the top bar shares the open file.

  • Rotating to landscape gives a full-screen plot with overlay controls.

While a large file is being read you see Opening …; Back cancels.

Truncated or interrupted recordings#

If a recording was cut short you still get to see everything that survived, with a message such as This recording was interrupted before it was finalised — 63.0 s of it was recovered. or This BDF is truncated — only N s of M s could be read. The file opens and is usable.
