Troubleshooting#
Common symptoms and what to try, grouped by what you see. Each section keeps the fix short and specific.
No headsets found#
Headset switched on and charged? Bluetooth on? On Android 11 and older, is location switched on? Move within a couple of metres and tap Scan again. A headset already connected to another phone or to BrainAccess Board will not appear.
Connects, then drops#
Keep the phone within a few metres and avoid putting your body between
phone and headset. Charge both. Repeated ⚠ N samples lost normally
means link congestion — close other Bluetooth-heavy apps and avoid
scanning while streaming.
All electrodes red or “No contact”#
Seat the reference/ground electrode first, then press each electrode down and part the hair. For dry electrodes give the skin a few seconds to settle. Use the contact check before every session.
Strong 50/60 Hz hum#
Check the reference/ground electrode, unplug the phone charger, move away from mains cables and power supplies, and confirm the notch frequency matches your country (50 Hz in most of the world, 60 Hz in North America).
Traces look flat#
Electrodes with no contact are deliberately flattened. Check the quality dots and the contact check. Also check Scale and Sensitivity in More.
LSL stream not visible on the computer#
Same Wi-Fi network? Does the network allow multicast (guest networks usually do not)? Is LSL outlet on? Is the computer’s firewall blocking it? Try toggling the outlet off and on.
Recording stops by itself#
Check free storage, then whether the headset went out of range. Disconnecting or an OTA update also ends a recording.
Session stops when the screen turns off#
Allow the app’s notifications and check that the ongoing “Streaming …” notification is present. Also exclude the app from any aggressive battery optimisation your phone applies.
Cannot find my recordings in a file manager#
Android 11 and newer restrict access to that folder. Use Recordings → long-press → Share, or connect the phone to a computer.
